Very impressed with Madrid Barajas airport
The architecture is modern and minimalist. The wavy ceiling is made of wood reminiscent of teak furniture, which adds a touch of warmth to the otherwise strictly functional layout. The large, open spaces and clear color coordinated signs, which even tell you the amount of minutes you need to go from one spot to another, makes finding your way around easy and intuitive. Flights are not announced on speaker phones to keep the atmosphere quiet and peaceful. Very civilized and overall a great airport experience.
