I'm a frequent visitor to Raleigh, NC, and on one of my lasts visits I stumbled upon WakeMed Soccer Field, a little gem of a soccer stadium, that is home to the Carolina Railhawks, a USSF D-2 team that reached the finals this year. I haven't yet seen the Railhawks play but I'll make it a point to go watch one of their games in the 2011 season.
For the last 20 years, I've been looking for a rotisserie chicken place in the US that can deliver the same flavor as rotisserie (pollo a la brasa) restaurants in Peru. Finally, my search is over. Mami Nora's could hold its ground even among the best pollo a la brasa restaurants in Peru. If you like pollo a la brasa and you are in Raleigh, you ought to try this place.
If you're in the Raleigh area, do make it a point to visit the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. It was a pleasant surprise to find this great place, full of spectacular exhibits, interactive displays, and expansive, purposely designed spaces. The museum has a little bit for everyone, and it's a hit with kids. This wonderful experience, which can last between an hour and a day (or several days depending on how much detail you want to take in) is also completely free. Check out their website frequently for special exhibits and events.
