Santiago's Mercado Central is a must see.  You will find the most colorful and varied assortment of fine fish, that you can even enjoy right there, in one of the restaurants located in the center of the building.  Besides the quality of its seafood, the market is also known for its cast iron structure, imported from Scotland in the nineteenth century.

This street performer was showing support for the 33 miners that have been trapped under rubble for 17 days.  Minutes after I took this picture, the president of Chile announced that they had established contact with the miners and that the 33 are apparently OK.

Pictures of Los Dominicos church and surrounding areas.  Nice morning stroll.  You can get there using Santiago's clean and efficient Metro.  This picturesque area is minutes away from Vitacura and Las Condes, where most of the best hotels are located.
