I usually drop by Trader Joe’s to pick up a bottle of wine every time I visit Raleigh, NC. It just brings a big smile to my face to see the cashier wrap my wine in one of their gorgeous wine paper bags. They could have used any paper bag, but instead they chose to make each wine purchase special by dressing up their bags with a white and pink bottle-shaped illustration that looks like it was painted by hand with watercolors.

This simple, elegant touch communicates thoughtfulness and attention to detail, and, as a customer, it makes you feel appreciated, respected and delighted. Or, as Guy Kawasaki would say, enchanted...

With a view like that it was hard to focus on the sales meeting that brought me there... especially because I couldn't stay for the day off.
